Athletics

The TAISM Athletic Department believes that a co-curricular athletic program is vital to the intellectual, physical and emotional development of a student. TAISM athletics promotes a high level of integrity, commitment, cooperation, responsibility, accountability, and self-discipline. Student athletes are encouraged to strive and maintain academic excellence. TAISM’s Middle and High School sports program includes a variety of Middle, Varsity and Junior Varsity sports.

SAISA and local tournaments

Being part of SAISA, the South Asia Inter-School Association, our students have the opportunity to interact with students from other top schools in the region. The purpose of SAISA is to promote and coordinate regional professional development activities, academic and cultural festivals, athletics, and other events deemed appropriate by member schools. Teams participate with other SAISA schools from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Jordan and Nepal. TAISM Eagles are represented in soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field, and swimming. Visit our SAISA site for more information.

TAISM also works closely with other schools in Oman through the MSSL, Muscat Secondary Sports League, to offer quality games and tournaments in soccer, basketball, swimming, volleyball and track and field.

Aquatics

The aquatics program at TAISM runs all year with practice opportunities before and after school. The goal is to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim, be safe in, on and around water, to improve their stroke technique, proficiency in the water, swim stamina as well as to develop positive sporting behaviors, team building/spirit, commitment, responsibility and personal fitness. TAISM also offers a Learn to Swim Program developed around the American Red Cross materials. TAISM Learn to Swim has six levels of development that teach aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression. Learn to Swim Registration happens twice per year for both new and continuing swimmers.
