A group of 10 high school students from TAISM’s French classes (Levels 3 & 4) recently returned from a five-day educational trip to Paris, where they had the opportunity to practice their language skills and immerse themselves in French culture. The trip, designed to enhance both their linguistic abilities and cultural understanding, was a memorable experience for all involved.
Each morning, the students attended classes at the École de langue française, where they engaged in grammar and conversation lessons with native French teachers. These sessions were invaluable in refining their speaking and comprehension skills, preparing them for the real-world practice they would face throughout the week.
Afternoons were filled with cultural adventures, as students explored some of Paris’s most famous landmarks. They visited the iconic Eiffel Tower and marveled at the grandeur of the Palace of Versailles, deepening their understanding of France’s historical significance. A tour of the Stade de France offered a fascinating look into the world of French sports and national events.
The group also took part in unique, hands-on experiences that brought their language skills to life. In a cooking class at L'atelier des chefs, students learned to prepare traditional French dishes, while a treasure hunt through the artistic neighborhood of Montmartre provided a fun, interactive way to explore the city. The highlight for many was attending Le Roi Lion (The Lion King) musical, performed entirely in French. This immersive experience allowed students to test their listening skills in a dynamic and engaging environment.
This trip not only strengthened the students’ French proficiency but also fostered a deeper appreciation for French culture. The memories and skills gained during this adventure will no doubt inspire their continued study of the language for years to come.
