TAISM’s Director of Finance, Hemant Dutia, Honored with Prestigious 2024 Will J. Hancock Unsung Hero Award Muscat, Oman – June 14, 2024 – The American International School of Muscat (TAISM) is proud to announce that Hemant Dutia, Director of Finance, has been awarded the 2024 Will J. Hancock Unsung Hero Award by the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) in the USA. This distinguished award recognizes independent school business officers who have made extraordinary contributions to their schools, embodying the spirit of leadership and innovation exemplified by Will J. Hancock, one of the founding members of NBOA.
Hemant Dutia is one of only nine business officers internationally to receive this esteemed award in 2024. His remarkable ability to listen and find solutions has proven invaluable in the challenging landscape of international education in Muscat. Hemant is celebrated for his unwavering support to individual staff members, fostering a culture of care and excellence at TAISM.
Beyond his responsibilities as Director of Finance, Hemant plays a crucial role in collaborating with the US Embassy in Muscat, supporting the education of Embassy students and their families. His communication with the personnel at the Office of Overseas Schools at the US Department of State ensures that TAISM adheres to the highest international business standards and practices for an American international school.
Under Hemant's stewardship, ethical business practices have become the cornerstone of TAISM’s Business Office. His commitment to integrity and visionary approach has profoundly benefited the school’s development over the past 26 years.
Hemant is also a pivotal leader within the Near East South Asia (NESA) regional community, offering insightful advice and steadfast support to leaders across various international schools. His commitment to fostering a dynamic network of collaboration is evident in his proactive communication with colleagues from diverse school and country settings. Hemant’s contributions have been particularly noteworthy in organizing the Business Managers Strand each year at the NESA Fall Leadership Conference, where he distinguished himself as a leader.
His influence in Muscat extends beyond the school, connecting with the international and Omani business communities. Hemant excels in building relationships based on respect and understanding, significantly enhancing TAISM’s reputation and setting a high standard in educational finance management globally.
