For 14 years, the Bosch Center for the Performing Arts has been the cultural heart of TAISM. Since opening in 2012, it has hosted concerts, festivals, guest speakers, musicals, plays, assemblies, and countless student performances. At the same time, it has served as one of the school’s most busy and dynamic classrooms, supporting learning both onstage and behind the scenes. 

Most visitors experience the Bosch Center from the audience, watching students perform under the lights on stage. But behind the curtain lies a fascinating world that many never see—a network of backstage spaces, technical equipment, and creative work areas that help bring every production to life. 

Hidden above the stage are catwalks and lighting positions where students engage with the art and science of technical theater. From these elevated walkways, lighting and production elements can be adjusted to shape the atmosphere of each performance. Backstage, costume and prop storage areas, dressing rooms, and technical workspaces support the preparation, organization, and collaboration that happen before every show. 

The Bosch Center is much more than a performance venue. Students gain hands-on experience in set construction, costume design, stage management, sound engineering, and lighting technology, developing skills that extend far beyond the stage. Whether performing in front of an audience or working behind the scenes, students learn teamwork, leadership, creativity, and confidence through real production experiences. 

Named in honor of Dr. Donald Bosch and his wife Eloise, whose contributions to Oman left a lasting legacy in healthcare and education, the Bosch Center was designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and excellence in the performing arts.
