A Strong Start

 A Strong Start
It was a successful initial month of TAISM sports as volleyball games and swim meets kicked off the sports season.
The TAISM swim team had a friendly meet against ABA in early September which involved many PRs and a great Eagles atmosphere. The swimmers have another meet against ABA coming up, and head to Kathmandu, Nepal and are into the thick of their training.
The Varsity Boys Volleyball team has had a stellar start to the season, 3-0 in games and 7-2 in sets only losing the third set to PSO twice as they figure out new rotations and lineups. Among many great performances, some of the most standout include the boys' 25-3 win over BSM led by Luke with 9 aces in 15 serves. The Eagle Eye got an exclusive interview with Captain Asher post-game after their best win of the season against BSM. “We have a great group of fellas this year, and I truly believe we can take it all the way.”  The boys travel to Amman, Jordan later in the fall and are excited to have the opportunity to bring it home.

The Varsity Girls' Volleyball team followed in the same suit as the boys' team with a 25-3 win and dominant victory over BSM continuing a historic run that seems unbeatable. Giselle served 20 times in the final set while our fantastic supporters erupted in applause as TAISM swept BSM. We also caught another exclusive interview with Coach Lattimore getting his opinions on the girls' win; “We are just getting started“ he said. If history repeats itself that statement will bode true. The girls travel to Colombo, Sri Lanka where they will play in an infamously regarded volleyball arena known for its combination of high humidity and open gym layout making for an exciting tournament.

The JV boys and girls both kicked off their seasons as well, with the boys achieving an exciting win against ABA and the girls losing a hard-fought battle against the same opponent. The future is exciting for TAISM volleyball!
