A TAISM Student’s Journey at SAISA Art in Nepal

TAISM art students traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal, for SAISA Art, where they explored new creative techniques, connected with artists from across Asia, and immersed themselves in Nepalese culture. Through hands-on workshops, cultural experiences, and a final exhibition at the Museum of Nepali Art, they embraced the opportunity to grow as artists and individuals, creating lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.

My Experience at the ECIS Physical Education Conference

The ECIS Physical Education Conference, held in February 2025 at ACS International School in Doha, focused on the future of physical education, covering topics like Activity for Life, AI in PE, and Mental Health. Luther Rauk, a PE teacher at TAISM, shared his experience of presenting and participating in the planning process. He emphasized the value of learning from peers and returning with fresh ideas to benefit TAISM students. Luther also expressed appreciation for TAISM’s support of professional development, fostering a culture of lifelong learning among its educators.

Behind the Bots: A Conversation with Gabe, TAISM Robotics Club Member

Joining the TAISM Robotics Club has been a transformative experience for Gabe, who shares insights on the challenges and rewards of building and programming robots. He highlights the difficulties of turning ideas into reality, the importance of trial and error, and the persistence needed to overcome setbacks. Initially joining on a whim, Gabe found inspiration in seeing other teams' creations and has since built impressive projects himself. His advice to newcomers? Art in Action: TAISM Students Use Creativity to Give Back

TAISM’s Art Core 1 students, guided by Ms. Jenny Tiefel, created and sold hand-printed tote bags inspired by traditional Arabic designs. Proceeds supported the Community Service Club’s work with a local children’s hospital. The project taught students printmaking skills while connecting their creativity to a meaningful cause. Enthusiastically embraced by the community, the initiative highlighted the power of art to give back, with plans for future service-focused projects already underway.

TAISM Launches Life-Centered Education Program to Support Diverse Learners

The American International School of Muscat (TAISM) has launched a Life-Centered Education (LCE) program in its Elementary School to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Starting in August 2025, the program will provide individualized academic, social, and life skill instruction for students who need specialized support, while promoting an inclusive environment. Through personalized instruction and integration into classroom and extracurricular activities, the LCE program reflects TAISM’s commitment to inclusivity, helping students reach their full potential within a supportive community.
