School Life at TAISM
What are the school hours?
For Pre-K3 (EC1) and Pre-K4 (EC2) ages 3-4, the school day runs from 8:30 to 12:30.
Pre-K4 (EC2) Extended Day runs from 12:30 to 3:30.
For Kindergarten, and Grades 1 through 12, the school day runs from 8:30 to 3:30.
Is there a bus service?
Busing, contracted through a private company, is available and is optional. Each vehicle has a bus monitor who ensures that all students are seated and seatbelted at all times, and will communicate with the school and/or parents if needed. See Fee Schedule for bus fees.
Are there After School Activities (ASAs)? Is there a cost?
TAISM offers a wide range of After School Activities (ASAs). These range from sports to music, performing arts, board games, IT and robotics, publications, and a whole lot more. There is no additional fee for participating in ASAs, unless your child is traveling internationally with the school team.
Is there a bus service after the After School Activities (ASAs)?
Yes! Once ASAs begin, TAISM operates 3 bus services at the end of the school day for students who are signed up for the yearly or half-yearly bus service. The buses depart at 3:45 pm, 4:40 and 5:20.
Is there a school uniform? What are the costs?
The daily uniform, sold at the school, is worn by students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, consists of a branded TAISM polo shirt in red, white or blue, and is available in cotton or dry-fit. The polo shirt is part of the TAISM dress code, which varies by school divisions. The PE uniform consists of a cotton gray TAISM t-shirt, and shorts. Each item is priced between 5-7 OMR. There is also a TAISM sweatshirt/hoodie available for purchase for 13 OMR.
Each of these items are sold at Final Registration Days (in August) and are afterwards available for purchase from the Visitors’ Reception throughout the school year.
Admissions and Enrollment
What are TAISM’s age requirements for admissions?
At TAISM, schooling begins at age 3, with entrance into the Early Childhood Center.
- Pre-Kindergarten 3 (Early Childhood, EC1) : A student who is three (3) years of age by October 31 of that school year
- Pre-Kindergarten 4 (Early Childhood, EC2) : A student who is four (4) years of age by October 31 of that school year
- Kindergarten (full-day): A student who is five (5) years of age by October 31 of that school year
- Grade 1 through Grade 5: A student enters the grade based on the age as of October 31 of that school year (e.g. six years old for Grade 1)
Age criteria and grade equivalencies between TAISM and other school systems:
At TAISM, the correct grade placement for international student applicants is decided by the Admissions Committee in consultation with the Principal. It is the intention of the school to always place students in the grade most appropriate for their academic and social development.

What is the deadline for applications?
No. TAISM remains open for admission throughout the school year, provided seats are available.
Is there a fee at the time of application?
There is no fee at the time of application. The Application Fee will be invoiced at the time of enrollment, along with Tuition and Capital Levy fees*.
*There is no Capital Levy Fee for students enrolling in Early Childhood. The Capital Levy Fee is applied when EC students move up to Kindergarten.
Are there any additional costs aside from Application, Tuition and Capital Levy fees?
Additional costs include:
- Uniforms
- Bus fees (busing is optional)
- Cafeteria fees (students may bring food from home or purchase food from the cafeteria)
- International travel costs, if traveling with the school team for sports, etc.
