Elementary School Library
TAISM’s new Elementary Library opened in the Fall of 2015. The new library, with over 12,000 items, features more than twice the previous space with three separate teaching areas designed to accommodate several classes at once. The library collection includes Fiction, Non-Fiction, picture books, leveled books for beginners, and magazines. The library is also a hub for digital content including elementary databases, online encyclopedias, and digital tools.
The TAISM Elementary Library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Students are taught by the Elementary Librarian once during a six-day cycle. In addition, students and teachers are welcome in the library throughout the week. A librarian and a library clerk will be available to help students with inquiries and book selection.
Parents are welcome to use the school libraries, provided the spaces are not being used for student learning. In addition to students checking out books regularly, parents may check out books for themselves or their family as well.
The TAISM libraries continue to sponsor events throughout the year such as author visits, book week, poetry month celebrations, and birthday books where a small donation goes toward purchasing a new library book in the students’ name. TAISM’s Friends of the Library are great supporters of the library overall and these special events.
