The Advanced Placement (AP) Program
The Advanced Placement Program® enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies — with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both — while still in high school. AP Exams are given each year in May. Students who earn a qualifying score (3 or above) on an AP Exam are typically eligible to receive college credit and/or placement into advanced courses in college. (www.collegeboard.com)
TAISM offers fifteen AP courses. Students who take an AP course are required to take the AP exams which are offered in May of each year.
Because of the rigor of an AP course, students who earn a C- or above will receive an additional .5 points which will be calculated in their GPA.
