Community Service

The philosophy of the High School Community Service program in TAISM is to foster civic responsibility for the benefit of the community. Through this service, students develop skills, career awareness and self-esteem. The intent of the program is to encourage students to be active and engaged members of their communities, and to address important community issues.

Being part of the Community Service activities is optional; it is followed as an extracurricular activity with extensive guidance from staff associated with the school and/or community.

Throughout the year, the students are involved in several organizations, some long-term and others, solitary events. The Community Service Council meets on a weekly basis to discuss how to organize events and create opportunities for other students to participate in.

High School community service is currently involved with the following organizations:

  • Dar Al Atta

  • Lets Read Program, Dar Al Atta

  • Oman Cancer Association

  • Oman Down Syndrome Association

  • Charity Wing of the Indian Social Club

  • Royal Hospital

  • Free Medical Clinic

  • The Hoffman Orphanage
