Sports at TAISM

The TAISM Athletic Department believes that a cocurricular athletic program is vital to the intellectual, physical and emotional development of a student. The athletic program plays an important role in the life of TAISM students. Athletics and activities are an extension of a solid educational foundation. Athletics is a medium which we use to teach our students. Students who participate on TAISM teams will acquire self-discipline, build self-confidence and develop skills to become independent learners and responsible citizens. TAISM athletics promotes a high level of integrity, commitment, cooperation, responsibility, accountability, and self-discipline. Student athletes are encouraged to strive and maintain academic excellence.

The Athletic Department provides TAISM students with the best coaches available. Coaches in interscholastic sports have an opportunity to achieve a wider scope of educational and developmental goals through the additional learning opportunities that occur when working with students in cocurricular activities.  Our primary goal is to help young people reach their fullest potential intellectually, emotionally and physically.

All students are welcome and encouraged to participate in TAISM’s sports program. Students and parents are to familiarize themselves with each division’s handbook in order to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and to prevent any misunderstandings during the course of the school year.

All students who become members of an athletic team at TAISM are expected to be positive role models for the student body. Athletes are to display the utmost in maturity, self-discipline and positive role modeling at all times and in all situations.

TAISM’s Middle and High School sports program includes a variety of Middle, Varsity and Junior Varsity sports.  Being part of SAISA, the South Asia Inter-School Association, our students have the opportunity to interact with students from nine other schools. The purpose of SAISA is to promote and coordinate regional professional development activities, academic and cultural festivals, athletics, and other events deemed appropriate by member schools. Teams participate with other SAISA schools from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Jordan and Nepal. TAISM Eagles are represented in soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field, and swimming.

TAISM also works closely with other schools in Oman through the MSSL, Muscat Secondary Sports League, to offer quality games and tournaments in soccer, basketball, swimming, volleyball and track and field.
