Middle School Library
The MS Library is part of the Middle School Learning Commons (MSLC), and became its own distinct library space in 2015. With over 4,000 books aimed at middle school students, it serves as a staging ground for students’ literary adventures and explorations.
In addition to the ever-growing collection of books, the MS Library includes age-appropriate magazines, audiovisuals, and educational technology, all in a space purpose designed for sixth through eighth graders. Students can airplay their school-issued iPads to the 60” LG TV for presentations, create with the iMacs, lounge in the oversized beanbags, or listen to audio books in acoustic-controlled chairs. In an extension of the MS Library, middle-school students are connected to TAISM’s collection of digital books hosted on Overdrive (an app installed on their iPads). With over 3,000 additional, current, high-interest titles for students to choose from, they have more access to reading materials today than at any point in the past!
The MS Library opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. every school day. Students and parents are encouraged to access its various collections throughout the day. As well as perusing the shelves during lunch time, students regularly visit the MS Library as part of their Language Arts curricula.
Stay tuned for library-related events throughout the year, both for students and parents, and come visit the MS Library often!
