Program Curriculum
Class
Size
The
average class size schoolwide is 14. Normally, no more than 20 students
are in a class. The low student-teacher ratio increases direct teacher
interaction with students, which allows for a more individualized approach
to learning than would be possible otherwise.
Assessments and Testing
Classroom teachers use a variety of assessments throughout the year to evaluate students and construct learning opportunities. In addition, the IOWA Test of Basic Skills is administered each year in Grades 3–8. Standardized testing is utilized solely for the purpose of providing an external indicator of our program, both in terms of strengths and opportunities for improvement.
