Library Media Center

Our fantastic new facility was completed in Fall 2007. With over 13,000 items in its database, the LMC serves the entire school community. The library has an ever-growing collection of books, audiovisuals, reference materials, periodicals, and online resources. The LMC uses Follett's Destiny automated system and is part of the school's computer network. Patrons have access to the Internet as well as several subscription databases.

The library is open for independent student use before and after school, during lunch and, of course, during the regular school day. Considered a community resource, the LMC is also open to parents throughout the day. Elementary classes visit the library weekly as part of their regular schedule. Middle and High School classes use a flexible schedule.

The LMC sponsors a number of special events during the school year including author visits, reading incentive programs, Children's Book Week celebrations, Teen Read Week, Book Clubs and Fairs.

The Library has a very active Friends of the Library group made up of dedicated parents.

All students have made remarkable progress with their reading during this school year. We encourage everyone to continue this progress by reading over the break. To support summer reading over the upcoming holidays the TAISM Library is pleased to offer a school-wide summer reading initiative, “Feed Your Mind – Read!” Offered at the elementary level for the past seven years, this year the opportunity is extended to middle and high school students. All students in Grades EC through 12 will have the opportunity to participate. Those who are interested will be asked to keep track of the books they read over the break using distributed reading logs (see links). These are to be returned when school commences in August. Prizes will be awarded in early September…so go for it!
