SPANISH I
The primary objective of the Level 1 Spanish-as-a-foreign language program is to help students develop their linguistic proficiency and cultural sensitivity. By interweaving language and culture, the program seeks to broaden students’ communication skills while at the same time deepening their appreciation of other cultures. The program is an integration of thematically related video, audio and text activities leading to complete language development. The program is designed to accommodate all students by appealing to a variety of learning styles.
This course is taught at the high school level; therefore, a passing grade earns high school credit.

SPANISH II
Course Description:
The primary objective of the Level II Spanish language program is to help students further develop their linguistic proficiency and cultural sensitivity. By interweaving language and culture, the program seeks to broaden students’ communication skills while at the same time deepening their appreciation of other cultures. Activities progress from controlled to open-ended practice where students are able to express themselves in meaningful communication.
The Spanish as a foreign language program strives to help students continue to develop their proficiency in the Spanish language through the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and to instill in students an understanding and appreciation for Spanish culture around the world. The goal of the program is to provide students with the confidence to express themselves in the Spanish language.

SPANISH III
Course Description:
The primary objectives of the Level III Spanish language course are to help students further develop their linguistic proficiency and cultural sensitivity. By interweaving language and culture, the program seeks to broaden students’ communication skills while at the same time deepening their appreciation of other cultures. During the different quarter besides grammatical points, students will learn about different cities in different Spanish speaking countries. They will study their customs and traditions, monuments, know people and typical food. The goal of the program is to provide students with the confidence to express themselves in the Spanish language, and strong participation in class is required. Exploring a variety of themes, students will develop and apply critical thinking skills in discussion, in their analysis and interpretation of simple non-native and native texts, and in their own writing. The course emphasizes the concurrent development of Spanish verbal communication, reading, and writing skills. Areas of study have been carefully selected to provide opportunities to use Spanish for real purposes and in real situations.

Authentic materials like magazines, songs, short stories and stores advertisements are used too as part of the classroom materials in every level taught at the school.
SPANISH IV
Course Description:
The primary objectives of the Level IV Spanish language course are to help students to put in practice all the knowledge they have learned through the previous years of Spanish classes. They will continue to develop their linguistic proficiency and cultural sensitivity using literature in general. By analyzing pieces of literature work the program seeks to broaden students’ communication skills while at the same time deepening their appreciation of other ways of expressing art. The goal of the program is continue to provide students with the confidence to express themselves in the Spanish language, to read carefully and analyze, express their opinion and develop written comments.
