MIDDLE SCHOOL ARABIC

GRADE 6

The aim of the Arabic course is to urge the students to love the language and learn it in the simplest and most interesting ways possible. The curriculum we use is the Lebanese, Lugati Farahe. The books follow the new methods of learning. Arabic is offered three times a week; for a period of 45 minutes.

The books are not the only source of material that is used in the classroom. Many activities and games are planned for this course. Different instructional plans are used in the classroom.

The Arabic course expectations are organized into structures, which corresponds to the three main areas of language use; oral communication, reading and writing.

GRADE 7

The aim of the Arabic course is to urge the students to love the language and learn it in the simplest and more interesting ways possible. The curriculum we are using is the Lebanese, and the books follow the new methods of learning. Arabic will be offered five times a week; each period is for forty-five minutes. The books are not the only source or materials to be used in the classroom. Many activities and games are planned for this course. Different instructional plans are used in the classroom.

GRADE 8

HIGH SCHOOL ARABIC

GRADE 9/10

  • The art of storytelling - students learn to express their ideas orally, in writing and summarizing.
  • Building the personality - students learn to acquire and analyze text. They also learn to discuss and express their own opinions.
  • The lyrics – students learn to differentiate the different styles of writing. They learn poem and poem measures
  • Fine Arts – students learn to use the learned lingual form in writing and the text structure and sequence.
  • Description of sentiments
  • Rhetoric Description:
    • Description of Man
    • Description of Animals
    • Description of Nature

Acquiring different kinds of literature through the texts. Writing essays individually and in a group.

Merits & Demerits:

  • Understanding, summarizing and analyzing the text
  • Acquiring the structural and morphological styles of sentences and their functions
  • Using appropriate writing styles (descriptive, dialogue, letter research, report)


Intro To Arabic I

The aim of this course is to urge the students to love the language and learn it using very simple, motivating and up-to-date methods of teaching. It is designed for the non- Arab native speakers.

The curriculum is designed in different ways according to the various levels in the classroom. Frequent changes are made to meet the needs of the teacher and the students. The book aims at involving the student in the learning process. The first year the students will be studying the Arabic alphabet, numbers, dates, days of the week, months of the year and other topics. Students are also given an opportunity to experience the language they are learning by communicating with people who speak the language.

Intro To Arabic II

The curriculum is designed in different ways according to the various levels in the classroom. Frequent changes are made to meet the needs of the teacher and the students. The book aims at involving the student in the learning process. The Intro To Arabic II book, Easy to Arabic, is designed for the non-Arab speakers. By the end of the school year students will be able to read and write texts and stories, read and write dialogues with the correct sentence structure, learn some grammatical issues, and more topics and concepts that they need to learn.

Advanced Arabic

  • Literature and its characteristics - understanding the concept of literature and its characteristics. Memorizing poetry and understanding the meaning of a concept.
  • Expressing customs and morals through literature. Understanding the effect of the Islamic religion on literature in the following aspects - religion, politics, society and unity of language.
  • Expressing spiritual and social morals through literature
  • Expressing attitudes through literature
  • Literature between imitation and renewal. Learning about literature in the Abbasi Era and the effect of the political and social factors.
  • Literature and social contradictions - learning about literature in the Andalus and new kind of literature (Al Muwashat)
  • Arabs and the Western Civilization
  • Social adjustments - understanding issues of social adjustment
  • Explaining and analyzing the role of literature in each students’ country
  • Renewal in poetry styles - understanding the new literary and analytical styles of poetry
