FESTIVAL OF CHOIRS 2007


Dear Choral Director and School Administrator,

THE AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF MUSCAT in The Sultanate of Oman is excited to invite your high school chorus to be a part of a very special choral music event:

THE 4th ANNUAL

TAISM FESTIVAL OF CHOIRS

FEBRUARY 22-23, 2007

It is our hope that you will join us this year, as the 2007 festival is guaranteed to provide participating students an exciting musical, cultural, and social opportunity. Led by section leaders and a special guest conductor, the festival mass choir will take part in team building activities and encompass a broad spectrum of choral literature. The Festival of Choirs experience culminates with a grand finale concert where students perform in one large mass choir. During the concert, guest choirs are also given the option to be featured in 2 songs of their director’s choice.

Event Highlights/Additional Information:

  • Activities are held on the beautiful campus ofThe American International School of Muscat, Oman
  • Mass choir octavos and a rehearsal CD will be shipped following the November 15 th Registration Deadline
  • The special guest conductor will also conduct a professional development workshop meeting for the participating choral teachers.
  • Your choir will be greeted upon arrival at Muscat’s Seeb International Airport
  • The festival will begin with a special welcome breakfast; including an introduction of guest choirs and the guest conductor.
  • All meals during the 2-day Festival are provided
  • Host family overnight stays…no hotel expenses!
  • All singers will receive a Festival of Choirs t-shirt
  • Also included in the package is a Grand Finale Concert CD and picture disk for each participant
  • Team building activities
  • Teacher collaboration and workshop…great professional development!
  • Social events for students include: beach picnic, talent show, and dance
  • Farewell following the concert and transportation to Muscat’s Seeb International Airport

The registration fee for the event is $55.00 ( U.S.) per student. The registration covers the cost of music/shipping,

T-shirt, CD package, meals, and reception. Travel arrangements and costs to and from Muscat are the responsibility of each individual/school organization. Following your school’s consent to participate, additional Festival materials and information will be mailed to you.
