  School Overview

The Embassy of the United States of America, the Ministry of Education of the Sultanate of Oman, the Office of Overseas Schools of the United States Department of State, and a group of parents and business leaders came together in 1998 to establish The American International School of Muscat (TAISM).

In the Sultanate of Oman, TAISM is the only international school based upon American curriculum and methodologies, and is the only school sponsored by the Embassy of the United States of America.

Campus

The School’s new campus opened in August 2000. Additional classrooms and facilities were added in August 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007. The expanded campus includes 59 classrooms, 2 information technology laboratories, 3 visual arts studios, performance hall, drama classroom, 3 music classrooms, 4 science laboratories, Early Childhood Development Center, library/media center, ELL center, special needs rooms, cafeteria, rooms for small group instruction, 2 indoor gymnasiums, competition swimming pool, outdoor covered sports courts, grass-surfaced sports field, and 3 playgrounds

Student Body

The student body is currently composed of 600 students of 53 nationalities with students from the United States being our largest group.
